Getting into the field of Finance is already hard for graduates, especially the ultra-competitive world of Investment Banking and Corporate Finance where the supply of these roles are so very few. Likewise for Accounting where demand is extremely high because everyone believes it can’t be that hard to count numbers all day.

What separates candidates is technical skill and experience… But what is you lack the required technical skills or experience?

This Program gives you virtual work experience and training in financial modeling, valuation, mergers and acquisitions and leveraged buyouts. You will learn technical modeling skills from an analyst and associate's perspective, and how to interpret and use the model as an investment banker would and how accountants compile financial statements.

WEEK 1

The first week of the program is critical, you will learn core model building skills starting from excel and basic accounting. Accounting concepts are refreshed while we learn techniques behind projecting an income statement, cash flow statement, balance sheet, and supporting schedules. Taking a look at case-study, interpreting financial reports and assessing future performance will be the key focus of this part of the program. Attendees are tested on topics learned to assess progress, which also serves as great interview preparation.

WEEK 2

The next week will focus on the concepts and practical use of valuation. The full financial model built in the first week is now assessed for value. Building an accurate set of comparable companies, understanding precedent transactions, and conducting a discounted cash flow analyses are learned. Furthering model interpretation, we begin to discuss and model equity raises, debt raises, asset acquisitions and divestitures. These are fundamental concepts that seed transactional M&A learned in the next weeks. We introduce the concept of M&A by discussing and modeling an accretion / dilution analysis – the core analysis to assess financial impact of a target company into an acquirer in a merger or acquisition.

WEEK 3

In this week we will focus on a full-scale mergers and acquisitions. Core valuation, acquisition and divestiture concepts are applied to a full-scale merger model. Taking a real world case study, we assess the combined financial performance of two companies –building a complete merged model including all three financial statements and supporting docs. A final exam tests skills learned and also proves as interview preparation.

WEEK 4

The final week of the program focuses on the topic of leveraged buyouts. We introduce the concepts honing in on subjective and further high-level analyses. We then apply core concepts into a full-model case study. We conclude these four weeks with a series of model case studies that prove a test of entire program knowledge and strong technical interview preparation.
